Sonja currently serves as Financial Officer at the International Monetary Fund, where she worked for over seven years. Given her passion for innovation, economics, and development, Sonja has been selected to serve on the Advisory Board for the IMF Innovation Lab. Before joining the IMF, Sonja provided research and consulting services to government institutions, chambers of commerce, think tanks, and infrastructure consulting firms. Sonja earned her MS from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service with an Honors Certificate from the Karl F. Landegger Program in International Business Diplomacy Program. She also holds an MA degree in Political Science, Economics, and Sinology from Bonn University (Germany) and spent a year at the Capital University of Business and Economics in Beijing (China), on a scholarship awarded by the German Academic Exchange Office.
